CONTINUING EDUCATIONFROM THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH:
Effective November 28, 2001, Certified Radiologic Technologists (CRT) (except mammography) and Limited Permit X-ray Technicians must obtain 24 CEUs every two (2) years to renew certificate or permit. CRTs with mammography must obtain 24 CEUs, 10 of which must be in mammography, and perform 200 mammography examinations every 2 years to renew certificate. Licentiates must obtain 10 CEUs every 2 years to renew certificate or permit. 2 Year Renewal for Certificates and Permits The 2 year renewal referred to above began on the expiration date of the certificate or permit:
CEU attestation and/or verifications will be requested during renewals starting January 2003. CEU's required during the 2003 Renewal period have been prorated to acceptance of half of the CEU's listed above. All renewals starting in 2004 will be required to meet the full CEU's listed above. The continuing education (CE) credits and continuing experience required to renew permits and certificates in radiologic technology are specified in title 17, California Code of Regulation (17 CCR), section 30403. The Radiologic Health Branch does not have a program to provide continuing education credits and does not credential providers of continuing education.
