Wow! The first 3 months of the year has been fairly turbulent. In my business I have experienced some great weeks, then all of a sudden everything comes to a screeching halt. It has been up and down these first 3 months. Talking to some members it seems that they have been experiencing the same thing. I think this could be the reason why we are having a record low of members rejoining or just sitting on their membership application. We have tried to hold back increasing our membership fee's because of the slow economy.
For the first time in AADMRT history, we have had to cancel our Spring Seminar. I would like to give a special thanks to Tony Giacobazzi and Ron Thatcher for putting together a fantastic line up of speakers and donating their time and efforts to better educate and promote AADMRT and it's members by taking on this task. Unfortunately, we had a very low enrollment for the seminar that did not justify the expense. The Doubletree was gracious enough to let us out of our contract and only charge us the deposit fee. We also had to absorb the printing and mailing cost of the registration brochure. As of now, it looks like we will be eliminating the Spring Seminars in the future until we feel a need for them. I hope things turn around soon for all of us. We are hoping to utilize the Doubletree for one of our Fall Conventions. Berkeley is a beautiful place to host one of our events. Tony has served on AADMRT Board of Directors and held the position of President. Ron also has dedicated years to AADMRT and is our current President. I would like to thank both of them for stepping forward not only as our Spring Seminar co-chairpersons but as leaders in our organization.
We are working hard on the Fall Convention. Some of the speakers that were scheduled for the Spring Seminar have agreed to lecture in Reno for us. We will have more details for you as they come to fruition. I hope to see all of you there.
As the editor, I would love to have you submit any information to me to publish. I am always looking for new and exciting things that I can share.
