PAST EDITOR'S MESSAGE | SUMMER 2011Merry Hampton
![]() Hello all,
I have been running crazy trying to put together our fall convention and this newsletter at the same time. I finally did it. I believe that we have a really great line-up of speakers this year. I have sent out the registration brochure already. I hope that you have received it. Please send in your registration forms as soon as possible, I do need to get a head count to order the proper amount of food, drinks and table space. I hope to see all of you there. ImageWorks and Imaging Sciences International plan on hosting users meetings. At this time of print, they have not solidified the time and date. Please contact your company or they may get in touch with you for that information. For California Lab owners, Dan Halpert has submitted a great format of information that can help us regulate non-compliant x-ray laboratories that are doctor owned. I think he did a terrific job putting the information together for us. Please check it over. We need to work together to keep our business the specialty that we have and cherish so much. For me it is not only a financial threat but an emotional one. I love what I do and I hope to continue as long as possible. I recently had an orthodontist place a CBCT in his office and he has tried to solicit his services to my referring doctors. I most graciously let him know that he would be violating the Dental Practice Act / Business & Professions Code 650.01. He thanked me for letting him know and I have not heard much since. I had a few doctors step forward and let me know this was going on and when they were asked to refer patients to the ortho, they said they were happy with my services. (Yeah!) You should be receiving your Membership Directory soon. Devery Wallace has been working diligently on it. It you want to update your information or picture, please contact Devery ASAP. devery@petalumadentalradiography.com. I am always looking for articles and lab products to share, so please keep me posted or let me know what you want in your newsletter. I can always use great ideas. Thank you for letting me be your editor. |
