PAST EDITOR'S MESSAGE | SUMMER 2012Merry Hampton
Hello Members,
Welcome to Summer! This should be our busy time of our professional days. Well, not as busy as our "Good Ole Days." I really miss those times where I was running like a crazy person just trying to keep up with the daily demand. Now I miss the phone ringing! By talking to a lot of our members, this seems to be our new norm. I would like to thank Ron Thatcher from C & G Dental X-Ray of Walnut Creek, for asking Dr. Eric S. Tsai to write our feature article for us. When I read it in its rough draft format, I was really impressed. I think it is a very well written, and informative submittal. I personally have never been asked to include the ostium in maxillary implant images. So, for me, this article has changed my philosophy on my maxillary posterior implant reports. If I see any type of opacities in the maxillary sinus, I will make sure the ostuim is also recorded. This is the type of article that I would like to see more of. I would love to hear from anyone that has run across an unusual artifact in a scan, something that may be presented in a study club or a philosophy that is different than the norm. Please, if you get the opportunity, pursue the doctor and ask if they would be willing to submit an article for us. This not only helps educate us as x-ray technicians providing our doctors valuable information, but this will help you get to know your doctor on a more personal-professional level. I hope to see all of you at our 2012 Fall Convention in Minneapolis. Nancie Grabow and Annette Nelson have been working hard, putting together a fabulous meeting. A vote for the AADMRT Board of Directors is in this newsletter, if you want to write in a nominee to run please contact Annette Nelson. Marcelle Jones will be sending out (on behalf of our By-Laws chair Dania Tamimi) a ballot to vote on some proposed changes in our By-Laws. Please look them over and vote. |
