I can start no other way than to thank Camille Mayorga, our outgoing editor, for her years of service to A.A.D.M.R.T. Camille, you are a tough act to follow. I am pleased to take over her role as editor of the A.A.D.M.R.T. Currents. I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions to continue to improve the publication. I am very excited to get more involved with A.A.D.M.R.T. It is an organization I have come to enjoy and have learned much from the many people I have met in its member base.
I am relatively new to the group, with nearly four years experience in the dental imaging field. During this time, I have been employed at C-Dental X-Ray, Inc. based in San Francisco, California, where I am currently director of operations and human resources. Many of you may know my father, Jerry Peck, the owner of C-Dental X-Ray for the last 31 years. So while my experience in the field is recent, my exposure to the field is life long. I have perhaps learned most from my dad about all aspects of this industry. Watching him and working with him all of these years has really made me appreciate all that goes into a running an independent imaging center. I have come to understand how critical it is to provide excellent service, outstanding imaging quality and advance technologically to stay ahead. We are both fortunate and cursed to work in a field that is ever evolving. Fortunate that it is never boring but cursed in that we are always chasing the next big thing. I have to say, I have really grown to love the chase.
My wonderful husband Joe and I live in San Jose, California with our daughter Etta. We are expecting another daughter this March.
I hope the Currents will continue to promote a sense of community among our members and remain a great source of information. Thanks to Camille Mayorga, Dan Halpert and Merry Hampton for all their help to me so far. I welcome suggestions and submissions for articles as well as your feedback. Best to you all in 2009.
