We are well into the fall season and as many of you know, we have held our annual convention. This year marked AADMRT's 30th and was held in the beautiful city of San Francisco at the graciously appointed landmark hotel, Marines Memorial Club. A majority of the credit for the success of this well run and informative event is due to one person, Devery Wallace. Devery is also the Board of Directors Treasurer. Hours of preparation, planning and organizing go into a large event of this caliber. Thank you from all the members of AADMRT!
A special award was given to a very special person at this conference as well. Matt Kroona has dedicated many years to coordinating the AADMRT X-ray School. He is continually working with the state on compliance issues updating curriculum, and making course revisions. He has served as President of AADMRT and is currently the School Administrator. It is through this school that X-ray Technicians are credentialed. Thank you, Matt for your tireless contributions to our profession!
It is because of people like Matt and Devery and many others like them that AADMRT has grown into the prestigious and professional organization that it is. The only way we can insure sustainability and excellence is through the continual sharing of the work by all. Contributions of time, large or small, through volunteering in "our" organization, benefit all of us and the future of our profession. During difficult times as these, or in the better times to come, each one of us needs to consider sharing our gifts in whatever way we can.
On a sad note, with this issue, Camille Mayorga, Editor, and Craig Dial, Assistant Editor, will be publishing their final issue of Currents. This publication requires 60 hours for formatting and printing a single issue, a major undertaking! We have been so fortunate to have such expertise and professionalism guiding this newsletter. This product is another example of why our organization is held in such high regard in the industry.
A mere thank you seems highly insufficient for these selfless volunteers. We as a board stand and applaud you, Camille and Craig, for your tireless contributions. If the opportunity arises, please consider thanking them personally.
Welcome Joanna Peck-Rashid, our new incoming editor of our newsletter. We look forward to the upcoming issues of Currents.
As I serve the last months of my presidency on this board, I want to thank all of you for your support and encouragement over the past two years. It has been a growing and satisfying experience. I will be continuing on as a board member, and am pleased to be able to pass the baton to the very capable, Dan Halpert. Dan has been a past president and founding member of the organization.
I look forward to the many opportunities ahead for all of us as we continue to grow as an organization and profession.
