Having just attended AADMRT's 33rd annual fall convention last weekend in Reno, I have to say that I came away happy and encouraged for our organization's future. The lectures were varied, entertaining and educational. I won't recount them here in my message because others will be doing that for us in this very publication. I am proud to say though, that six of our own members participated in the lectures. What a bright, educated and talented bunch of people to be associated with! It's always so fun to reconnect with our fellow members at convention time. Whether during lunch, over cocktails or at the gaming tables, I personally enjoyed every conversation and each interaction I had with everyone. This is truly a great group of people.
One of the highlights for me was being able to present both Tony Giacobazzi and Dan Halpert, our two recent past Presidents, with plaques of appreciation for their service to AADMRT. I have been privileged to serve on the Board with both of these men, and can attest to their character and to their commitment to this organization.
Thanks to everyone, who in any way, was responsible for making our convention a success. A great big thanks to Merry for chairing the event and doing all the things both large and small to pull it off.
For those of you who couldn't be in Reno with us, please plan on joining us in Minneapolis Minnesota next Fall. With the economy being what it is, it may seem difficult to justify the travel. But personally I feel that now more than ever, it is important to support this organization through attendance. AADMRT would cease to exist without member participation. We have a whole to year to prepare for and plan our trips!
As my term on the Board of Directors comes to an end, I would like to congratulate and welcome our three new Board members, Annette Nelson, Marcelle Jones and Tracey Saucier. Thank you for your willingness to serve, I know you will each make valuable contributions to AADMRT's continued success. The group will be led by our President elect, the very capable, Nancie Grabow. Thanks for taking on this responsibility. I believe we will be in good hands!
It is hard to believe that October is nearly over. They've always said that time goes by even faster when one gets older, and I guess they were right! As we begin to head into the holiday season, I'd like to wish you all health, happiness, and much success both professionally and personally.
