Hi, my name is Ron Thatcher and I am the acting President of AADMRT for the remainder of 2011. For those of you who don't know me, I have worked at C & G Dental X-Ray in Walnut Creek California for the last 30 years. Guess I would have to be considered one of the old timers. Hate that!
I was originally hired by Jim Campbell and currently have the pleasure of working for Tony Giacobazzi. Tony is a good man and also a great friend. I enjoy working with him.
I've been involved with the Board these last four years, and particularly this year as President, I've seen what it takes to make this organization run. With that thought in mind, I just wanted to make some suggestions that might help us keep AADMRT strong and efficient.
The first thing that comes to mind is membership itself. I would like to encourage everyone to stay active and current with their enrollment in AADMRT. What would be great is if we could get everyone to renew before the end of the year. Not only does it save a little money with our early incentive discounted fee, it also makes updating our membership lists, mailing labels and web site easier to work with and control. There is always an early sign up form in the Fall Newsletter.
Always be on the lookout for things that will help Board and chair persons do their jobs more easily. Suggest companies that may want to advertise with us, volunteer to run for Board positions without being asked, volunteer to chair a convention. Ask your doctors if they do speaking engagements, or if they know people who do, and pass those names on to convention chairs. Suggest locations for conventions, sign up and attend the meetings. If your doctors publish articles or may want to write a feature article for the newsletter, pass that information on to Merry our editor. Contribute short articles yourself. Let us know what you're doing in your office that may be interesting or fun. We are always looking for content for the Newsletter and I personally enjoy reading the articles submitted by our members the most. Volunteer to write reviews on convention speakers' presentations for the Currents.
Remember that this is YOUR AADMRT, and there are countless things that we each can do to contribute to keeping it strong and vital.
