PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE | SPRING 2015By: Tracey Saucier
Hello Members, Summer is almost here, I love summer as the days just fly by. We are busy all day at work instead of just in the afternoon, my weekends are usually filled with fun outside stuff like running, walking the dog, and BBQs with friends. I hope yours is equally as busy and fun filled. Here is a quick summary and update on the AADMRT Online Program: After an 8 month period of working with a legal representative and having our application reviewed, we were able to receive permanent exemption from the BPPE. AADMRT is not responsible for annual audits and fees from the BPPE. On 4/21/2015 we resumed classes. The 4 original students have continued their enrollment. They are expected to finish school and take their state exam in early 2016. The Fall convention is coming together. We have a place and time. It will be held at the Hyatt Regency San Francisco Airport in Burlingame, SF, On October 30-31st. The 37th Annual AADMRT Conference is bringing together some of the brightest minds in orthognathic surgery, orthodontics, implantology, sleep apnea, and TMJ, to examine how to prevent unintended consequences during and after treatment through a blend of art, science, and technology. 8 lectures and 6 hands-on workshops will examine how these leading clinicians utilize Cone Beam CT, intraoral scanning, and 3D software to evaluate their patients from a holistic perspective, managing the effects of their treatment plans on patient occlusion, airway, and TMJ. I hope to see you all there, and remember to register early to secure a spot! After being a board member of almost four years and President for two of those years, my term is almost over. That means we need new board members! As you read this and think, "oh, I am sure someone will run, I just don't have the time", please reconsider, this is not like an HOA board where you have to meet every month and it does not take much time. We are a voluntary board, and the AADMRT can not survive without board members. It's a two year term, and you can learn so much about the AADMRT and radiology just by being on the board. Don't let me down members; I want to see several names on the ballot this Fall. Now I have to go rest up for the summer rush, and my training for my 1/2 marathon in 100 degree temps. Wait, did I say I love Summer. . . See y'all in the Fall, Tracey Saucer |
