I consider myself a fairly new member to the AADMRT Organization. I was a sale representative for twenty years in the Medical X-ray field prior to purchasing C&G Dental X-Ray Lab, Inc. in 1999. I was strictly a salesman at that time and did not have a license to take x-rays. I was very fortunate, however, because U. C. Berkeley still offered the Principles of Radiologic Technology Limited Permit 800A course through their extension program. This allowed me to go through the process of obtaining my Limited Permit in Dental X-ray. The course was discontinued a couple of years later, leaving many of the x-ray labs with few options for obtaining the Limited Permit X-ray License.
"We now have our own AADMRT X-ray School allowing students the opportunity to obtain their Dental X-ray Laboratory Limited Permit."
It remained that way for a couple of more years. Then two of our esteemed members, Craig Dial and Matt Kroona solved the dilemma. By maintaining personal contacts within the California Department of Health Services, and through great perseverance, they made it possible for AADMRT to purchase the rights to the U.C.Berkeley?s 800A course. We now have our own AADMRT X-ray School allowing students the opportunity to obtain their Dental X-ray Laboratory Limited Permit through self-study in the state of California.
And it is precisely this type of collaborative effort and willingness to contribute to the greater cause of the organization by members of our group that has compelled me to attempt, in my small way, to give something back as well.
The previous example is but one of many that has occurred during my tenure in this organization. Many contributions made by many mem- bers have been the norm since the inception of AADMRT. This is why we are the great organiza- tion we are today, and why with everyone's help; we will only continue to get better. A strong organization will empower each one of us as we attempt to remain at the cutting edge of our industry.
"As I begin my year as President, I would like to especially thank last year's board for their strong leadership and commitment."
As I begin my year as President, I would like to especially thank last year's board for their strong leadership and commitment. Especially Jeannie Herriott, who stepped in on such short notice and never skipped a beat or dropped the ball. I hope that I can contribute at a level of excellence comparable to my predecessors.
I look forward to working with all of you in the coming year.
