Here we are at the beginning of a brand new year. I have a long list of resolutions and habits I hope to change for the better and goals I hope to achieve by year end.
The very first thing on my list is to give thanks for all the wonderful people within this organization that I get a chance to work with. The Board of Directors and Committee members always seem to give 110%. Without their hard work and willingness to work with each other, our association would simply cease being. My experience over the last few years as Vice President is that we have a very cohesive and dedicated group. My hope for 2009 is to encourage some of the newer faces to the organization to participate in its future by joining a committee.
If one word could summarize my goal for my term at the helm of this group, it would be "Synergy." My understanding of the definition is that two separate forces when combined generate more than just 1+1 would. I believe that together we can get so much more accomplished than we can on our own.
A.A.D.M.R.T. members have always been very open in sharing their technical and supply discoveries and I expect that to continue. Many of our members help other members by mentoring new technical advances, we look to provide skill enhancing meetings that can help those new to dental imaging.
Finally, I look forward to an enhanced synergy with the American Board of Oral-Maxillofacial Radiology. We are planning a joint meeting in 2010 in San Diego. Our concept is an event where members of both groups will be able to attend presentations put on by A.A.D.M.R.T. or A.A.O.M.R.
